I'm Alaina — a teacher and mom who learned personal finance skills the hard way. Now I help other parents figure it out too, so we can all give our kids a stronger financial starting point.
I didn't grow up knowing much about money. Honestly, we just didn't have a lot of it. I learned about watching our spending and prioritizing expenses, because that's what had to be done.
As an adult, managing a household meant budgeting, saving, and making financial decisions with real consequences. I didn't have a finance degree or a clear road map — I figured it out as I went.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that these seemingly complex financial skills were actually learnable. Now I'm managing money with confidence and teaching those same concepts to my two young boys.
